About this Page...
Most bands have a news page but we felt that a blog may just be more fun giving you the reader a more candid view of what's happening.

New CD Available

New Line UpTake a listen click here!
Well after a couple of weeks in the studio & countless weeks delaying the artwork. Our new CD is finally available for purchase. Simply visit our home page & click on the "Buy Now" button to purchase. Cost is just £10 + £1 P&P. Most of the CD consists of Jive Tempo tunes the remainder are Stroll Tempo tunes. The CD was recorded in an Analogue based studio but mastered using the latest digital technology. The Analogue stage was especially chosen to provide a "Fat" sound something which most modern studios lack due to their overuse of digital technology & editing at the recording stage. Have a listen to 3 of the tracks on our audio page to see what you think.

Almost There...

It will be worth the wait!
Just thought I would keep you up to date. We are now back from our trip to the Studio, unfortunately in our quest for perfection, we overran. The remaining backing vocals, hand claps and a few other overdubs are due to be done next Saturday. Then we have a 2 day mixing session to get through. The tracks (even in their un-mixed state) are sounding awesome. Turns Martin (Our Studio Engineer) although not being a musician himself has an unbelievable ear for timing & song structure, he pushed us hard for the performance that he knew we could achieve. So well done Martin!

As soon as we have some tracks we will share them with you. Pictures of us in the Studio will be here real soon. Kevin also bugged the hell out of us all by videoing about 20 Gazillion hours of video we won't bore you with that but we may get a chance to put a short clip together at some point.

Studio Dates

New Line UpStudio Chosen!
Having now found a suitable Studio, we can now confirm that we will be recording from 3th to the 8th April. A few days after this we should be able to share samples of some of the tracks with you. We had originally decided to release the CD ourselves but we are now currently in talks with a Spanish label for a European release. Watch this space.

Exciting times ahead.

New Line Up!

New Line UpVictims of our own success
During 2007 we found that the band were being very well received, unfortunately we have had to turn down 16 gigs due to the unavailability of our drummer & alto sax player. Both these guys play almost professionally in other bands and clearly at some point this would become a problem for us as we became more sought after.

We would like to therefore welcome Elliott our new drummer, Richy on Tenor/Alto Sax & a new addition Alan on the big ol' Baritone Sax. For those you who can count :-) that of course now makes us a Jump Jivin' Seven Piece! The Baritone adds so much to our sound, those real low notes really test our bass speakers out!

In the Studio

New Line UpAnd who said the CD was dead!
Not a gig goes by these days with out someone approaching us and asking "Do you have a CD I can buy" I guess many of us take MP3 downloads for granted these days but there clearly is still a market for the good old CD, even if they do get ripped to MP3's & then put on some file sharing web site for free (don't get me started on that one)

All Honey B & the KOS demo recordings to date have been done either live or in our home Studio on a budget of well Zero! These recordings have served a purpose in launching the band but the time has come we feel to spend our hard earned cash on some professional Studio Time. Recording of our first CD will start in April 08 & will be available for sale during July 08.

Analogue V Digital!
I intend (notice the word intend) to keep this section up to date with news from our Studio antics. What I can tell you is that we have gone out of our way to find a Studio & engineer that still uses Analogue recording techniques. The majority of Studios these days use computers & digital medium to record, something that our style of music in my opinion struggles to sparkle on. The good old 2" 24 track Tape gives a very big & warm sound, something our current digitally recorded demos we feel lack. Next week we are due to visit several Studios to find one that suits us best.

More Studio Ramblings coming soon!
